I had a wonderful experience teaching the eXperiential Erotic Hypnosis workshop in Los Angeles at Redondo Beach last week.  Here's a followup question on some techniques I taught in that experience that was posted to the Hypnosis Technique Excchange (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypnosisTechniqueExchange).

Great. That's exactly what a person needs to do to gain mastery.

Both of those are great. I am glad to hear that you are continuing to practice them.

"Last few days I did start reading Hyper-Sex, and in the manual there are many stories that follows many of your process that you shown us in class. I do have a question, it seems like the author starts with progress or guide imagary induction which seems pretty slow… Any suggestion as to speed up the induction and go into the hyperemperia? Perhaps use the Elman and then transition to hyperemperia? Wanted to see what your thoughts on this topic."

Hyper-Sex is specifically following the hyperempiric approach developed by Dr. Eugene D. Alexander (there is a copy in the files section of the Hypnosis Technique Exchange for those who are not familiar with the book – this file was generously placed there by Dr. Alexander for exchange members). It's a fairly early text and so Don's approach has evolved over time. I consider it a form of experiential hypnosis which can be gained in a number of ways. One thing you can do is to use the Elman or some other rapid induction if you prefer. During the seminar, I predominately used instant inductions (often a variation of my arm pull – even with folks who were familiar with the sleight of mind gambit) and then moved into the erotic technique (this was partly to save time so we could focus more on the on-topic techniques). You can also eroticise a vanilla induction to enhance erotic response during the process. Remember the erotic progressive relaxation rapid induction I demonstrated during the eXperiential erotic hypnosis seminar? That's a standard vanilla induction but by adding in the kinesthetic imagery of an erotic massage increases the responsiveness . . . the addition of gentle caressing touches enhances that particular variation as well . . . you will find that within intimate contexts, an induction style that might not be as reliable within non-erotic contexts becomes very effective. This is worthwhile in part as the induction becomes part of the experience itself . . . so, the road getting there is not only part of the journey but is the experience itself rather than worrying about how we get to the erotic experience, we're having it at the get-go within an intimate and positive experience. Even suggestibility effects can be eroticised – some lend themselves very well to this (variations of the lemon test, energy setups . . . remember how I converted arm levitation into positive emotional associations so instead of the happy balloons I tend to use in non-erotic contexts, I created an erotic balloon bit for intimate experiences) – then again, even things that one doesn't normally think of as an erotic effect can be eroticised (the manual has a few more examples of this but folks unfamiliar with suggestibility effects can take any of the ones demonstrated in my comprehensive core skills DVD program can convert them to intimate contexts and erotic response sets).

Obviously, with your wife, you don't need to use a full Elman or other induction for very long . . . either create a formal re-induction suggestion or just use the conditioned response that naturally occurs with this stuff. Of course, the erotic arousal triggers you are already practicing is an induction in and of itself. Use that trigger and look gently into her eyes and simply say "deeper" or the like and you will find she immediately begins melting within an intimate emotional experience and erotic set that can then be used to go straight into other effects or to enhance those you are currently playing with. The eye contact technique is very very powerful for enhancing erotic response and intimacy.
