Arm levitation (especially as imagined as balloons attached to the arms) is a common hypnotic suggestibility test or effect. However, I like to associate it to a positive emotional state – Happy Balloons – and convert into the induction proper. This video demonstrates what I mean.

This video is clipped from the production footage from an appearance I shot for a special guest segment for an
episode on hypnosis of Michael Cheng's television
program. The video was taken at CTS studios in Taipei, Oct. 17, 2008. For the show, they only needed a couple short shots, although I did perform a complete Short Sharp Shock
comedy hypnosis show (an brief style of performance with no music or
props, just jump in and go) with a couple volunteers and a very small
studio audience for taping purposes. I really love the colorful set.
