Most readers of Life of Brian know of my interest in Tarot. I do indeed teach various courses in Tarot in addition and as part of my hypnosis work (no, I don’t use a fortune-telling approach but prefer a more traditional divinatory context, one that is more akin to introspective meditation than prediction).
While I do teach courses in reading Tarot, I am always interested in other approaches. Snooping about on the web, I came across a few approaches that are worth contrasting. The two how-to pieces are fairly straightforward and while their orientations are very different – psychic versus faking – both are actually legitimate approaches to the cards and there are plenty of folks doing professional readings using either of these approaches.

I know, they put this thing together for fun and tongues are planted firmly in cheeks but this is actually a fairly common approach among psychic entertainers and is even more ethical then some of the learned cold reading lines some folks use. If one simply changes the tone and timbre to an intuitive approach, you have a fairly straightforward and valuable approach to reading cards for beginners. The New Wrinkle
I’m including this as it shows an interview with a dayin "psychic" with interview on the approach and the like. I do not agree with her on a whole slew of points (I do not believe one’s cards have to be gifted and do not subscribe to an orientation of special powers within the cards or the like).
