It’s great to hear that Russian police have begun using hypnosis more and more to help solve crimes (here) . . . but since when are the words hypnotist and psychic used interchangeably?  Last I checked, while many psychics are indeed hypnotists, most hypnotists are NOT psychics.  These are two very different monkeys.  The example of psychic power described in the article is basically forensic hypnosis.

Now, my family has recently been enjoying episodes of Ghost Whisperer on DVD and plan on moving on toe Medium next and even though I’m a hypnotist and we enjoy those sort of shows . . . we certainly don’t equate the two (and this coming from a guy who teaches courses in Metaphysical Hypnosis that go well beyond the pale).

Pravda definately needs a new editor.
