Kevin Federline TRIES Hypnosis to Quit Smoking

My students know why I have placed that special word in all caps . . . Kevin Federline TRIES Hypnosis to Quit Smoking . . . a number of hypnotic tests are phrased to use the word "try" in a certain way "your arm is tight and rigid and unbendable the more you TRY to bend it the tighter it becomes" . . . go watch some of my online videos to see what I mean (you can find them under "videos" at http://www.BrianDavidPhillips.com or in the "hypnosis videos" section of this blog).

Hypnotists know that the words "try" and "hope" imply failure. So, we use the word "try" to leverage an unconscious failure in certain actions. However, if you really want to quite smoking using hypnosis, then you need to actually want to DO it, not just TRY TO DO IT. As many hypnotists know, there is only one mental attitude that will bring success when using hypnosis for anything, smoking or anything else . . . "I like that suggestion and I know it will work" . . . "I hope it will work" and "I will give it a try" are doomed. Of course, a hypnotist can help you with your attitudes and resistance but you HAVE to really want it and be certain of success. Focused concentration and imaginative involvement.

Kevin Federline is turning to hypnotherapy to help him quit smoking. Britney Spears’ rapper husband is desperate to kick the habit for the sake of their son Sean Preston and their unborn second child – but he insists his addiction is strong. He says, "To me it’s probably the equivalent of being addicted to heroin. I’m going to try hypnotism. Matt Damon did it."

Note . . . Matt Damon didn’t TRY to do it. He DID it. See a much earlier post on this blog for that story. Federline TRIES but Damon DOES. Fedeline’s language – as reported here – is such that he is setting himself up for failure unless he kicks himself in the ass and gets to work. He tells us his addiction to cigarrettes is special, more powerful than other peoples, just like heroin and that he will TRY hypnotism but he does not sound sure of himself. Hmmm. Maybe Matt Damon is a superhuman dude who can do things mere mortals like Federline can’t do. Nah, he is a kool enough actor with some quirky and fun films but he’s not superhuman. Federline is setting himself up with some fallback reasons for failure and unless he changes his attitude, the expected failure will indeed happen . . . what the mind expects, it realizes.

Hypnosis is the single most effective means to help folks stop smoking. It is NOT successful with everyone but it does have a higher success rate than other methods. However, to be successful, you really have to focus your mind on the outcome which is one thing hypnosis can be very good for . . . if you approach it with a positive mental state at the get-go.

I have helped people stop smoking with hypnosis. I have also had a few failures . . . however, the attitude of the client is paramount in this regard. I am happy to work with YOU but it is you who has to want to smoke. If you are attempting hypnosis only because your wife told you to stop, then don’t bother giving me your money, you’re wasting it . . . I’m happy to take your money, but I would rather it be because YOU are the one who REALLY WANTS to quit and give up that nasty habit that is killing you and sapping your productivity. That’s right KILLING YOU.
