Back in the Saddle Again . . .

Well, it was a week . . . that’s how long I was gone from Tarot L before enough folks convinced me that I really did make a mistake and that leaving the group because I was not happy with some folks wasn’t really helping me, them, or the list.  So . . . I’m back on the list . . . back to being a moderator . . . and back to the job . . . or, rather, the job as I perceive it . . . not the job as some folks see it.  Haven’t finished reading all the posts I missed while on my brief hiatus so I’ve not yet "announced" my return to the list at large . . . will do that after I’ve had a chance to catch up and get re-acclimated.  Of course, the folks on that list who also read this blog will already know before I say anything there … consider it a perk of reading the blog, or not.  In any case, there will always be stuff there that annoys the hell out of me … ’tis the nature of such lists.  I use Tarot for very specific reasons . . . well, that and I just love the variety in so many decks, some of which are true works of art . . . I don’t use it for historical study, although I have an interest . . . I don’t use it for divination, although I have an interest in psychological principles of synchronicity and the like . . . to each their own.  In many ways, my experience with Tarot is similar to my experience with metaphysical hypnosis . . . I use it, I teach it, but not quite in the way that folks often perceive to be new age or paranormal or parapsychological . . . I use a critical approach which does not presuppose that the "paranormal" experiences are genuine but also does not inherently discount their possibility (these are NOT mutually exclusive propositions).
