Of Energizers and Contexts . . .

As previously announced, the Hypnocast Episode Eleven: The Energizer, is now online. For those with an interest, this new video episode of the free hypnocast is up (see http://briandavidphillips.libsyn.com for Episode Eleven: Engergizer). This is a short clip from the Walkabout Trance (street hypnosis) event we ran with the Taipei Experimental Hypnosis Workshop (see https://briandavidphillips.net/ under "hypnosis workshops" for announcements). Basically, a group of hypnotists descended upon the Taipei Zoo and did cold walkups and approaches to members of the public for quick demonstrations of hypnosis, suggestion, and NLPish patterns (yes, we asked for video permissions).

The video in the clip is of me running the "Energizer" pattern with a young woman (while I am running the process in English, Martin Chen is running it via interpretation in Mandarin Chinese for an interlingual hypnosis effect).

The original pattern has been discussed on my blog and can be found in the archives of the exchange and elsewhere. It was originally created by Erick Känd as a "seduction routine" but I am running it here as an energy building and general feel-good process without the seduction baggage (in Känd’s process, he uses his pronunciation of the phrase "gooooood feeling" to imply sexual arousal without explicitly suggesting it and his "pull the feeling into your body and open your eyes" bit is designed so that the person feels the explosion of those "gooooood feelings" just as they open their eyes and look into the eyes of the person running the pattern to create an association of the feelings with the person). If find that when you remove the "seduction" elements from the pattern, it is still very powerful for many folks and it’s also a very nice pick-me-up (as oppossed to a pick-up). A number of folks I’ve run this variation of the process with have noted that it feels very similar to some of the imaginative qigong processes they’ve previously been exposed to. I have run a few guided imageries that have similar appeal.

One can also adapt this pattern process to other contexts. For instance, when I teach my couples hypnosis (romance and sensuality hypnosis techniques), I teach folks to use a couple variations on the same theme but these use explicit suggestion for erotic rather than merely good feelings and another variation that specifies romantic intimacy or bonding with one’s partner and sets then slides to accellerate that anchored response pattern. Of course, there’s a LOT more going on in that course than simple visualizations of this type. In my metaphysical hypnosis course, we use a process for higher self and the like. Once one knows the process, you can adapt it to whatever context and desired outcome that is appropriate.

All the best,
Brian
