More 3D goodness . . . IMAX converting 2D to 3D movies.

3D is back. The Hollywood Reporter says Imax Corporation is planning to launch a new technology that would allow movie-makers to convert any two-dimensional film into Imax’s three-dimensional environment. Last winter the company’s 3D version of “The Polar Express” was a hit, setting a box office record for any Imax release.

This is more good news. While I really like the news that more movies are going to be made in 3D, the prospects of seeing some old classics (like my entire Star Wars and Star Trek and Debbie Does Everywhere collections and a lot more) in 3D sounds pretty nifty.
