Hypnosis and Stopping Smoking

Hannah Davies writes on her experience with Allen Carr’s anti-smoking program . . . Can my addiction go up in smoke? . . . which combines psychotherapy, reversion, and hypnotic conditioning.

It is important to remember that smoking addiction is mostly psychological and partly physical. All the systems need to be addressed. Willpower alone is not effective with most folks but hypnosis can bolster that. The "away-from" strategy will work for some folks but it is also important to have a "toward" strategy that gives one a positive benefit, a real definable one, to giving up smoking . . . something that overpowers the desire to smoke. This can be accomplished with hypnosis.
