Instant Hypnotic Inductions

Crossposting from . . . Hypnosis Technique Exchange . . .

A question was posed asking about instant hypnosis inductins and where to find some to read up on . . .

There are a ton of the beasties in the message archives at the Hypnosis Technique Exchange.

Perhaps others there would like to share some of their favorites and/or their experiences with them. What makes an instant induction a good one, that is . . . one that works well.

However, you really need to understand that instant and rapid inductions are a breeze once you understand the real kicker . . . and that is . . . ANYTHING can be used as an induction. There are plenty of formal induction sequences out there you can learn, they are great models, but take a look at what’s behind them and then you can create an instant or rapid induction out of anything . . . any object, any image, any process . . . the trick is to understand that you’re focusing attention, if only briefly, providing imaginative involvement, and then doing something – ANYTHING – to cause a moment of cognitive overload that bypasses the critical factor.

Make it a PLAYFUL game, an experience to be enjoyed, and you’ll go far.

Take a look in the Marknosis archives, way back, and you will find some very useful posts on instant and rapid inductions as well.

Learning the inductions is nothing, practicing them and learning from the experience of DOING is where you really get the concept down. If you don’t have a practice group in your area, then get a bunch of friends together and start one . . . or do walkabouts, albeit a nice support group for practice is a wonderful wonderful resource beyond simply having a bunch of willing victims, er, fellow travellers, to play with. You can get objective feedback from others and discuss technique and method as well as learn from the strengths and weaknesses of others. If you’ve no “big-time” experts in your area willing to be initial mentors for such a group, then just have members take turns brining in something they’ve learned from this or that book or video and everyone practices the same. In no time at all, you’ll all be instant_induction_mavens and will be mentoring others.

In my opinion.

All the best,
Brian
