Sharp Introduces 3-D Desktop Computer Display

Sharp introduces 3-D desktop computer display . . . they’re taking the technology from their notebooks and putting them on a desktop LCD.

While the news of the notebook was very exciting . . . see this post for information and links to some worthwhile stereographic display sites . . . I never actually saw one of the suckers in any stores here. The folks who claimed my next display would be a 3D one were also way off the mark . . . sadly so.

Well, in any case a 3D LCD display may get things started a bit. The folks at Sharp are hoping to start some sort of revolution according to their press releases:

Hoping to spur a 3-D revolution, Sharp Systems of America introduced a new flat-panel computer display Monday that is designed to deliver eye-popping images without the need for special glasses.

Sharp and the other members of the 3D Consortium need to get off their butts and get some 3D stereodigicams out there now. Get young people taking stereographic photos and give them a display method then the revolution will get into full tilt.

And . . . I’m all for that revolution. For now, it’s lonely out here in 3D Land.
