Depressing news when you think about it. We often assume and like to delude ourselves that we’re sexually more aware and open than our uptight grandparents. However, that may not be the case. The proof is in th pudding and our pudding’s pretty cold when compared to days of yore. According to a new survey, we had more sex in the 50s. Housewives of the 1950s reported on average having sex twice a week. Today, two-thirds of housewives do NOT have sex even that much. They have more responsibility, work outside of the home, and television is now on past ten o’clock in the evening. Now, to me, twice a week sounds like a very dry spell . . . a sexual drought akin to the Sahara or the like . . . so when I hear that that many folks are not having sex even to that miniscule degree, it makes me wonder . . . what the hell are you people doing? Stop doing that and start making love . . . and if you can’t make love then at least have sex. I can’t imagine having a longterm relationship where one’s intimacy was expressed sexually to such an insignificant degree. No wonder marital dissociation is at an all-time high as are divorce rates.
