Autostereoscopic 3D Wobble Animated GIF Image Gallery

Magick Crystal Kaye

As most folks who read Life of Brian know, I love 3D Photography.

You may be interested in knowing that I have moved my Autostereoscopic 3D Wobble Animated GIF collection to my Fotki Galleries.

See the background essay from an earlier post for more information on what these images are and how they simulate depth.

The image shown here is of my daughter Kaye which I took today – actually, about an hour before posting this. We were just playing around with my Digital Rebel and Loreo 3D Lens-in-a-Cap rig to see how hypnotic and magickal an effect we could create with the setup we have. Just for fun.

Usually, I take the images with the 3D Digital Rebel and then use the Loreo Batch process in the Anabuilder software (powerful freeware well worth the look-see) which removes the center bar and sets the stereo window. I then resize the image in Photoshop to the resolution I want – as well as doing any edits to the color, brightness, contrast, or what-have-you there. By then using the save-to-web function there, I can save the file to a raw working file that has the right sharpness and characteristics to make a decent wobble (otherwise, I find Anabuilder screws up my size/sharpness issues). I then import the new file into Anabuilder and reset the window so the main subject doesn’t wobble – this is usually the face of my subject (Anabuilder‘s Loreo Batch function sets the window to the plane but this can sometimes create drastic shifts in wobbles so it’s best to experiment until you have it set so the subject doesn’t shift too much). I then save at best quality with a 350 milisecond timeshift for the wobbling (you can pick faster or slower, experiment).

Mostly, the idea is to have fun. See the earlier post for links to other wobble galleries as well as a discussion of the 3D Stereo Exchange where you can share your stereo images and discuss those by others.
